Laphroaig – Lore Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 48%)

Laphroaig Lore is an Islay single malt created by distillery manager John Campbell, who intended it to do justice to the many generations of Laphroaig distillery managers. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is a marriage of Laphroaig of many ages, some as old as 1993, matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon casks, first-fill sherry butts and quarter casks. The nose opens with lanolin, orange cake and dilute iodine. The palate is medium dry, with sweet smoke, dark chocolate, Fisherman's Friend and salted caramel fudge. It ends delicately bitter, like dark chocolate, with a lingering tang of lanolin, iodine and salt and pepper.
