Laphroaig Quarter Cask is an Islay single malt, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured twice in American oak: first in ex-bourbon barrels, then in small quarter casks while it is still ageing.
The smaller casks give the spirit more contact with the wood, and the second maturation revives an old tradition. Laphroaig's smoky peat comes with a surprising sweetness, with hints of coconut, banana and vanilla.
