Laphroaig Select is an Islay single malt bottled at 40% ABV. It is a vatting of single malts from five different casks: oloroso sherry butts, Pedro Ximénez hogsheads and ex-bourbon casks, with a finish in new American oak barrels.
Golden in colour, it has a nose of peat followed by ripe fruit. The palate opens sweet, then turns to peat smoke with hints of ash and seaweed. The finish is long, with lingering floral notes and touches of marzipan and lime.
