Laphroaig – Select Oak (70cl, 40%)

Laphroaig Select Oak is an Islay single malt bottled at 40% vol in a 700ml bottle. The Master Distiller hand-selected whiskies of differing maturity from Oloroso sherry butts, first-fill ex-bourbon quarter casks and Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads. The blend then spent 6 months in virgin American oak casks, a wood not often used for Scotch whisky. It is described as Laphroaig's most laid-back expression, with the familiar medicinal peat smoke and seaweed leaving room for red fruit, lime and a floral finish.
