Laphroaig – The 1815 Edition (70cl, 48%)

Laphroaig The 1815 Edition is a single malt Scotch bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It was created by John Campbell, the distillery manager, as a tribute to the master distillers who came before him over two centuries. The spirit is aged twice: first in first-fill, over-charred ex-Bourbon barrels, then in large, new European oak hogsheads. The result is a deep orange whisky made from malted barley smoked over a peat fire. It is described as combining peat smoke and medicinal character with caramelised dark fruit and oiled wood, balancing bitter, sweet, fruity and smoky flavours.
