Laphroaig The Cask Lore is a permanent Islay single malt, bottled at 48% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It has been part of the distillery's core range since March 2016, when it was released as Laphroaig Lore.
It is a blend of single malts aged between 7 and 21 years, drawn from the distillery's archive. They matured in ex-bourbon barrels, European oak, Oloroso sherry casks and butts, and quarter casks.
The nose has pungent peat smoke and seaside minerals, with a hint of ash and chocolate. The palate is lively, with bitter chocolate, ash and a spicy chilli bite, followed by a short, dry finish and a lingering sweet aftertaste.
