Lapis Añejo Tequila (75cl, 40%)

Lapis Añejo is a tequila made from 100% Tequilana Weber agave grown in Los Altos, Jalisco, and distilled at La Tequilena in the town of Tequila. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV. It is the work of Enrique Fonseca, a fifth-generation agave grower from Atotonilco el Alto. The tequila is double distilled in a copper pot still and rests in oak barrels for two to three years, well beyond the minimum for an añejo. The aroma is complex, with fruit, spice, anise, cherry, acacia, jasmine, apple, citrus and hazelnut. On the palate it is smooth and agave-led, lightly wooded with a smoked note, and it finishes balanced and harmonious.
