Larceny is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill in Bardstown, bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is a wheated bourbon, with soft winter wheat taking the place of rye as the secondary grain. The name nods to John E. Fitzgerald, a Treasury agent said to have taken the best barrels for himself, and the whiskey follows the Old Fitzgerald wheated bourbon tradition. Each small batch is vatted from 100 barrels or fewer, chosen to reach a six-year-old taste profile. The nose is fresh bread, toffee and butterscotch. The palate is buttery, with caramel, honeyed sweetness and a creamy texture, leading to a long, gently sweet and savoury finish with soft baking spice.
