Le Petit Cheval Blanc is a white Bordeaux from the Saint-Émilion appellation, made at Château Cheval Blanc and built on a base of Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit comes from the limestone-rich soils of the plateau, which give the wine a pronounced mineral character and a taut structure. The team at Cheval Blanc keeps the élevage precise, so the fruit stays clear and the saline quality of the limestone comes through. It is bright and focused, with grapefruit, lime blossom, flint and white peach. The acidity is sharp and lively, and the finish is mineral and persistent.
