Cuvée Divine Solera is the flagship Champagne of Leclerc Briant, a Brut made from about 50% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. The grapes come from the house's cru vineyards in Châtillon sur Marne, Hautvillers and Cumières, and the blend is adjusted to suit each vintage.
It combines usually three to five vintages, aged in wooden casks by the solera method. The 2008 base had 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2004 added, and the wine for the second fermentation is drawn from the bottom of the solera. The 2008 version was disgorged in March 2019, with a dosage of about 3 to 4 g.
The nose shows hawthorn and acacia blossom, Danish pastry and honey cake, with black cherry as it opens. The palate is concentrated and fleshy yet crisp and delicate, with a long, complex finish of fruit and dried fruit.
