Cuvée Divine Solera is the flagship champagne of Leclerc-Briant, here in its 2009 Extra Brut version. It is built mainly on Pinot Meunier, with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, from the house's cru vineyards in Châtillon-sur-Marne, Hautvillers and Cumières.
The wine is a blend of several vintages aged in wooden casks by the solera method, with the 2009 base topped up with 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005. The wine taken for bottling comes from the bottom of the solera. It spent around ten years on its lees, was disgorged in January 2021 and has a light dosage.
The nose is floral, with hawthorn and acacia, then Viennese pastry and gingerbread, and a hint of black cherry with air. The palate is concentrated and fleshy yet crisp and delicate, ending long with dried fruit.
