Lecompte 5 Ans is a Calvados from the Pays d'Auge in Normandy, an area known for high-quality cider apples. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
It is made from selected apple varieties, including Douce Coët and Belle de Boskoop, and double-distilled in copper stills in the traditional way. It then ages for five years in French oak.
The nose shows ripe apple, dried fruit, vanilla and light oak. The palate is harmonious, round and velvety, balancing fruity sweetness with delicate spice, and the aftertaste is long.
