Ledaig 10 Year Old is the peated single malt from Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, bottled at 46.3% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Ledaig was the distillery's original name when it was founded in 1798.
The malt is heavily peated, to around 35 ppm, and matured for ten years in ex-bourbon casks. It is non-chill filtered and at natural colour.
Tasting notes describe a sweet, briny smokiness on the nose, with mild antiseptic, creosote, wax polish and mint chocolate. The palate is sweet and medicinal, with peppery spice, dried fruit and a vanilla-malt creaminess. The finish brings white pepper, liquorice, cloves and lingering saltiness.
