Ledaig – 10 Year Old (70cl, 46.3%)

This is a 10 year old peated single malt from Ledaig, made at Tobermory on the Isle of Mull and bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is the distillery's signature smoky expression. The whisky spends ten years in oak casks, and the Lochan water and peated malted barley give a bright, lemony gold spirit that is both floral and smoky. The nose is sweet, briny smoke with soft peat, mild antiseptic, creosote, wax polish, mint chocolate and floral seaside notes. The palate is sweet and medicinal, with spicy pepper, dried fruit, peaty smoke, vanilla and a malty creaminess. The finish brings white pepper, liquorice, cloves and lingering saltiness.
