This is a 12 year old Ledaig single malt, a Distillery Exclusive release in a 70cl bottle at 57.5% ABV.
After its main maturation, the whisky spent a year finished in Amarone wine casks. The result is a sweet but smoky dram, with the wine influence set against the peppery smoke the name is known for.
The notes describe sweet vanilla custard and honey, balanced by sharp tannins and a distinct saline note woven through the peppery smoke.
