This is a single cask Ledaig, the peated malt made at Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. It was distilled in October 2006 and left to mature in a single butt until June 2023. Elixir Distillers bottled it for The Single Malts of Scotland series at a cask strength of 55.2% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour. The outturn was 581 bottles. The nose is led by peat smoke with maritime notes of wet seaweed and tarred rope. On the palate the smoke is weighty and earthy, with a more complex sweetness than you might expect. The finish is long, with nutty notes and a trace of tar.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
