Ledaig 18 Years (70cl, 46.3%)

Ledaig 18 Years is a peated single malt from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. It matured for 18 years in American ex-bourbon casks, followed by a further period in Spanish sherry casks, and is bottled at 46.3%. Sweet and floral notes meet sea salt and peat smoke. The nose is rich, fruity sherry smoke with phenols, seaweed, a little creosote, dried chilli flakes and spicy black pepper over sweet oak. The palate has strong sherry and herbal smoke, orange peel, coffee, a touch of sea salt, tobacco and white pepper. The finish is long and fairly sharp, with more smoke, liquorice and sea spray.
