This is a 19-year-old Ledaig, the peated single malt from Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. It was distilled in October 2006 and matured throughout in a single refill butt, then bottled at a cask strength of 55.6% by The Single Malts of Scotland. 636 bottles were filled.
The nose is earthy peat smoke with a firm note of sea salt. The palate is oily, with sweet toffee, ripe apricot and bitter orange peel, followed by dried fruit and fine spice. The finish is long and dry, with oak and a last trace of peat fire.
