Refill sherry butt
This is a 30-year-old Ledaig, the peated style made at Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. It was distilled in 1993 and matured in a refill sherry butt. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it from cask 706 on 12 April 2024 for its Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range. The single cask gave 381 bottles, each a 70cl bottle at 57.2%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose combines Seville orange, strawberry and toffee apple with stewed fruit, ginger and coastal peat smoke. The palate moves from brown sugar and vanilla to dried cherry, with dried banana, smoky peat, dark chocolate and a touch of sea salt. The finish is of medium strength, with autumn spices, black pepper, soft smoke and sherry sweetness.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
