This is a 20 year old Ledaig from the Isle of Mull, distilled in 2001 and bottled by Signatory Vintage for its Cask Strength Collection. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 58.8% ABV.
The whisky matured for two decades in a single refill sherry butt and was bottled without artificial colour.
On the nose there is plenty of orchard fruit, orange oil, cocoa powder and mineral smoke. The palate brings toasted almonds, dark cherry chocolate, aniseed and a wintery spice, followed by a finish of burnt brown sugar, smoke and salted caramel.
