This is a Ledaig distilled in 2005 at Tobermory and bottled as Edition No.70 by The Whisky Sponge. It comes at a cask strength of 62.1% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is a vatting of two second-fill sherry butts. Both casks were very active, giving a great deal of flavour while leaving only a small amount of whisky at high strength. The team behind the bottling felt they had to release it, and describe it as tasting far older than its years.
