This is a peated Ledaig from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2024 by Murray McDavid in its Benchmark series. It is 15 years old and comes in a 70cl bottle at 52.9% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. After maturation the whisky was finished in a Saint-Julien barrique that previously held red wine. This single cask produced 283 bottles. The nose combines sea salt, fresh fruit and smoke with earthy peat and fruit leather. The palate is full and intense, with dark chocolate, dried fruit, salty coastal smoke and peppery berries. The finish is long, warming and oily, with dark fruit and soft smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
