This is a peated Ledaig, distilled at Tobermory in 2001 and bottled by the independent bottler Highland Laird. It spent 24 years in a single ex-bourbon hogshead, which gave 189 bottles at 53%, here in a 70cl bottle. The nose is coastal, with smoke, sea spray and briny peat. The palate is bold and oily, with peaty smoke, seaweed and charred oak, plus touches of lemon peel, white pepper and a little salted caramel. The finish is long and warming, with bonfire smoke, sea salt and gentle sweetness.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
