This is a 28-year-old Ledaig, distilled at Tobermory in 1996 and bottled in 2025 by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice range.
It matured in a single refill American hogshead, cask number 88, and was bottled as a run of 223 bottles. It comes in a dark brown box with gold detailing.
The nose opens with lemon and lime acidity, gorse flowers and a fine hint of mint. On the palate come ripe pineapple and peach, the dry bite of walnuts and strong smoke. The long finish brings black pepper, a mineral note of glowing coals and a touch of tropical fruit.
