Ledaig Castaway (70cl, 61.1%)

Ledaig Castaway is a heavily peated single malt from Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, bottled at a cask strength of 61.1% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition. The peated spirit was finished in a combination of ex-Caribbean rum and ex-Mexican tequila casks. The release supports the Mull & Iona Community Trust, including its Ranger Service, affordable housing and conservation projects. The nose has smouldering driftwood, medicinal peat smoke and sea spray, with grilled pineapple, caramelised banana and lime zest. The palate brings smoky spice, charred citrus and demerara sugar, with herbal agave and salted vanilla. The finish is long, with maritime embers, dark oak and black pepper.
