Ledaig Castaway is a limited-edition peated single malt from Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, in a 70cl bottle at 61.1% ABV. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The heavily peated spirit was matured without any ex-bourbon casks, in Caribbean rum and Mexican tequila casks instead. The release also supports the Mull and Iona Community Trust.
The nose combines coastal peat smoke with caramelised banana, lime zest and vanilla. On the palate, smoky spice meets grilled pineapple, brine and herbal agave. The finish is long and warming, with smouldering peat, demerara sweetness, chilli heat and a last twist of lime.
