Iona Atoll is an alternative name for Ledaig, the peated single malt made at Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. Tobermory opened in 1798 and was originally known as Ledaig. After Burn Stewart took over in 1993, the peated style kept the Ledaig name. The nose is very peaty but not really smoky. The palate is smooth and well balanced, with malt, toffee and a hint of spice. The finish is medium to long, with lingering sweetness and a touch of oak.
