Leffe Rouge (pack of 24) (33cl, 8.2%)

Leffe Rouge is a Belgian strong ale of 8.2% abv, brewed by AB-Indev under the name of the Abbaye de Leffe. The abbey was built in 1152, and the recipe is said to be unchanged from the monks' original. It is amber in the glass, with a dense, lasting head. The nose is malty, with notes of roasted coffee and a hint of flowers and candied fruit. The palate is sweet from the malt, full-bodied and soft, with fruit emerging towards the end and a good length. It pairs with red meat, lamb, grilled meats and soft cheeses such as Brie.
