Legent is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 47% ABV. It began as a collaboration: Fred Noe of Jim Beam distilled the bourbon in Clermont, Kentucky, and Shinji Fukuyo, Suntory's fifth Chief Blender, blended it. It launched in 2019.
Part of the bourbon is finished in California red wine casks and part in sherry casks, then blended back with straight Kentucky bourbon. The base spirit is aged for a minimum of four years in new charred white oak.
The nose has traditional bourbon wood with spice and mild fruit. The palate brings dried raisins and dates, light acidity, sweetness and a hint of sherry-cask bitterness, leading to a rich, warm, oaky and long finish.
