Legent is a Kentucky straight bourbon blend, bottled at 47% in a 75cl bottle. It was made by Jim Beam's Fred Noe together with Suntory's Shinji Fukuyo.
The base is a bourbon matured for roughly five years in new charred American oak. Selected parcels then spent about one more year in California red wine casks and about two more in sherry casks, and the straight, wine-finished and sherry-finished whiskies were blended together.
On the nose are toasted almonds, brown sugar and dried fruit. The palate brings caramel and vanilla, then dark red and stone fruit with oak and a thread of chocolate. The finish is medium-long and warmly spiced, with leather and oak.
