This is a limited release rye from Leopold Bros, made for the distillery's 25th anniversary. Todd Leopold took his inspiration from Scottish producers' vatted whiskies, which are given time to marry in large casks.
The blend combines 8 year old Three Chamber rye with 5 year old Maryland style rye. It was left to marry in a large French oak foeder from New Belgium Brewing, then bottled at barrel entry proof with no filtration.
The Three Chamber rye adds body and sweetness, and the whiskey is described as full of baking spices and stone fruit.
