Lindores Abbey MCDXCIV is a Lowland single malt from Fife, named for 1494, the year of the first recorded distillation of Scotch whisky at the abbey. The distillery launched in 2017 and uses Fife barley and three stills. It is matured in a blend of ex-bourbon barrels, sherry butts and STR red wine barriques, and bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and without added colouring. The nose is toffee, vanilla, pear drops, apples and puff pastry, with figs, plums and a little dark chocolate. The palate is creamy, with caramel, vanilla, nutmeg, clove, poached pears and burnt orange rind. The finish is medium, with drying oak, white pepper and orchard fruit.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
