Nectere is a single malt from Lindores Abbey Distillery in Newburgh, Fife, matured entirely in sherry casks. Its name comes from the Latin conectere, meaning to link or connect.
Four types of cask were used: Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado and Palo Cortado. It is bottled at 47.2% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and in natural colour.
The nose offers dark dried fruit, roasted nuts and sherry sweetness. The palate has dark cherry, fig and raisin, with savoury nuttiness and a dry note. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit and gentle oak spice.
