Lindores MCDXIV is a Lowland single malt from Lindores Abbey, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a selection of bourbon, sherry and wine casks. The abbey is where the first officially recorded distillation of Scotch took place, in 1494, when King James IV asked Friar John Cor for aqua vitae. Fermentation runs for 117 hours, and the spirit is run through a wash still and two spirit stills. The shape of the bottle echoes the carved stones found buried during the conversion of the abbey and farm. The nose is soft and elegant, with vanilla, caramel, pear drops and toffee apples. The palate is smooth and creamy, with vanilla, dried fruit, citrus and a touch of spice, leading to a medium, delicate finish.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
