This is a 19-year-old single malt from Linkwood, bottled by independent bottler DS Tayman at 55.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The fruit-forward whisky was finished in an ex-Tequila cask, and it is one half of a duo from the bottler.
The usual orchard fruit and pastry notes are joined by peppery agave and herbal, leafy tones. Only 225 bottles will be released.
The nose has juicy greengages, ripe pears and Danish pastries. The palate offers caramelised stewed apples, rich butter pastry and a touch of agave. The finish is a lingering fruit sweetness with pastry cream and a delicate tequila-cask influence.
