This is a small batch Linkwood from 2013, bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd at 46%. The distillery in Speyside was founded in 1821, and its original Victorian buildings survive. Ducks and swans live on the water that cools its condensers.
It was matured in bourbon casks. The nose has warm Victoria sponge, buttery coconut and caramel. The palate brings spiced vanilla yoghurt, aniseed and toasted oak, then lighter stewed apple and pear. The finish is gently spicy, with vanilla.
