Littlemill 47 Year Old is the second release in The Vanguards Collection, made to honour Jane MacGregor, the first woman to hold a distilling licence at Littlemill's scale. It was distilled on 4 October 1976 using the distillery's patented straight neck pot stills. The whisky spent its first 20 years in refill bourbon barrels before being re-racked in 1996 into refill American oak hogsheads, where it matured for a further 27 years. Master Blender Michael Henry judged it ready. It is bottled at 44.9% in a 75cl bottle. The nose is coastal and saline with elderflower, rose petals and honey, then cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is silky with green apple, pear, pineapple and grapefruit, and the finish is long, with gooseberry, kiwi and warming cinnamon.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
