Littlemill – Private Cellar Edition 27 Year Old 2017 Rare Release is a single malt whisky from Littlemill (Lowland). Aged 27 years, bottled at 51.3% ABV, 70cl. Matured in bourbon barrels. This Littlemill was distilled in May 1990 and initially matured in eight refill bourbon barrels. These were then married in fresh bourbon barrels, and bottled in 2017 as that year's Private Cellar Edition release. The original presentation included the elegant decanter alongside a 5cl sample of the same whisky, and a small section of one of the original casks encased in resin. An old Lowland malt distillery with a tumultuous history. First established in 1772, it operated in fits and starts until its final closure in 1994 and it has since been lost for good following a fire ten years later. Today the brand and remaining stock are owned by the Loch Lomond Group.
