Living Souls 40 Year Old Batch 3 Blended Scotch Whisky, Refill Sherry / Ex-Islay Quarter Cask Finish (70cl, 44.6%)

This is a 40 year old blended Scotch whisky from Living Souls, released as Batch 3 and bottled in 2025 at 44.6% in a 70cl bottle. The youngest component was distilled no later than 1984. The blend was laid down in refill sherry casks in 1998 and later finished in ex-Islay quarter casks. Malt from the mid-1980s gives it a retro character of lavender and parma violet. The palate moves from tropical mango and pineapple to a dry, maritime note of coastal smoke, and the finish is soapy in an old-school way.
