This is a 13-year-old Islay blended malt from Living Souls, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. 'Williamson' is the traditional industry alias for teaspooned malt linked to Laphroaig.
It was matured entirely in refill bourbon barrels, which add soft vanilla sweetness to the peat smoke and maritime character.
The nose is smoked almonds, bright lemon, sea spray, medicinal brine, iodine and soft coastal smoke. On the palate come waves of peat smoke, citrus zest, gentle vanilla and charred driftwood. The finish is long and smoky, with citrus oils, soft ash, coastal minerality and warming spice.
