Loch Lomond – 14 Year Old (46%)

Loch Lomond 14 Year Old is a Highland single malt bottled at 46%. The distillery stands south of the loch, in the small town of Alexandria. The whisky is distilled in two kinds of pot still: traditional swan-neck stills and a straight-neck still. The straight-neck still is credited with the peaty, spicy part of the malt. The nose offers orange and other citrus fruit, minty herbs and a little sandalwood. Mint returns on the palate, with a light peatiness, aniseed, cloves and a fruity, warming spice. The finish brings cinnamon, cloves and juicy apricots.
