Loch Lomond – 46 Year Old Remarkable Stills Second Release

This is a 46 year old single malt from Loch Lomond, the second release in the Remarkable Stills series, which takes its inspiration from the distillery's straight neck pot stills, installed in 1965. It was distilled in 1974 from 100% unpeated spirit, and those stills give it a distinct fruit character. The whisky first aged in first fill and refill American oak casks, then moved to a blend of second fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Just 200 bottles were produced, each in a handcrafted oak box with a copper plaque and a sandblasted distillery emblem on the glass.
