Loch Lomond – Steam & Fire Heavily Charred (70cl, 46%)

Steam & Fire Heavily Charred is a Highland single malt from Loch Lomond, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle without added colouring or chill-filtration. It is made using both straight neck and swan neck pot stills, which gives the distillery's fruity house style, and it is distilled twice. The whisky matures in American oak through three different cask types, then spends ten months in first fill heavily charred casks. These are charred at the distillery's own cooperage. The heavy charring is said to bring a character of melted brown sugar and a rich, buttery mouthfeel, with notes of orange and dark chocolate.
