This Highland single malt from Loch Lomond Distillery in Alexandria marks the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews in 2022. Loch Lomond is the official whisky partner of The Open, and the whisky was created by master blender Michael Henry with golf ambassador Colin Montgomerie.
It was matured in American oak casks, finished in Bordeaux Claret red wine casks, and bottled without chill filtration at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The nose is fresh and fruity, with peach, pear and red apple and a rose floral note. Strawberry, peach and lime lead into creamy fudge and light biscuit on the palate. The finish is long, with lingering oak spice and soft smoke.
