Lochlea – Cask Strength Batch 1 (70cl, 60.1%)

This is the first batch of Lochlea Cask Strength, a single malt from the Lowland distillery, bottled at 60.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It has natural colour and has not been chill filtered. The whisky comes from first-fill bourbon barrels and oloroso sherry butts, chosen by master blender John Campbell and the Lochlea team. It is the first in a series of annual releases, each bottled straight from the cask without water. The outturn is 15,000 bottles. The nose has fruit punch, cigar notes and coffee beans. The palate shows Lochlea's fruit character alongside Brazil nuts, and the finish pairs orange syrup with aged oak shavings.
