Lochlea – Cask Strength Batch 2 (70cl, 60%)

This is the second batch in Lochlea's annual Cask Strength series, a Lowland single malt bottled at 60% straight from the casks without water. It comes in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill filtration. Production Director John Campbell chose a combination of Oloroso sherry, PX sherry and STR casks that work well at higher strength. The batch runs to 20,000 bottles. The official notes give apples, peach syrup and marmalade on the nose, then wild lavender and rose petals on the palate. The finish carries black pepper and fruit.
