Lochlea Cask Strength Batch #3 is a Lowland single malt bottled at 59.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Lochlea is an independent farm distillery, and the whisky is made from 100 per cent of its own barley.
The batch pairs rich Oloroso sherry casks with peated casks, a combination new to the distillery. It was selected and composed by master blender Jill Boyd, who joined the team at the end of 2024.
The nose offers ripe red fruits and spicy barbecue smoke. Cherries and dark molasses lead the palate, and the long finish brings baking spices, salty smoke, oak tannins and a little red rose.
