Lochlea Fallow Edition Second Crop is a single estate Lowland single malt from Ayrshire, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle without an age statement. The spirit was distilled from barley grown on the Lochlea farm.
It was matured in a mix of Pedro Ximénez casks (55%) and Oloroso casks (45%).
The nose has manuka honey, golden syrup, dried fruit, banana bread and rose petals over a malty, biscuity base. The palate shows dark chocolate, red berries, coffee beans, candied ginger, leather and aniseed. The finish is medium and slightly drying, with crushed almonds, dark chocolate and warm spice.
