Lochlea Harvest Edition First Crop is a Lowland single malt from Lochlea distillery, part of its annual seasonal series. It was bottled in 2023 at 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in Port, Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, and its packaging uses recyclable materials.
Honeyed apple, fresh pear and syrupy flapjack mark the nose, with hay and cinnamon spice. The palate offers summer berries, chocolate-dipped s'mores, drying herbs and floral jam. The finish is long, with maple granola, roasted almonds, a creamy vanilla undertone and vegetal malt.
