Lochlea – Harvest Edition First Crop (70cl, 46%)

This is the 2022 Harvest Edition First Crop from Lochlea, a Lowland single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. Only 9,000 bottles were released worldwide. Lochlea is a family-run distillery led by John Campbell, formerly distillery manager at Laphroaig. It grows its own grain and distils and matures the whisky on site. This edition was matured in port casks, Oloroso sherry casks and first fill bourbon casks. The nose is oatcakes, fresh apples and pears. On the palate come strawberry, violets and toasted marshmallow, and the finish is light and elegant with a juicy touch of strawberry.
